Privacy Policy
Effective September 15, 2026
Ratowsky Group is a team of licensed California real estate agents affiliated with Compass. This policy explains what personal information we collect through https://ratowskyrealestate.com, why we collect it, who we give it to, how long we keep it, and what you can require us to do about it. It applies to this website. It does not cover Compass’s own systems, which are governed by Compass’s privacy policy.
The short version
- We collect what you type into our forms, plus basic analytics.
- We do not sell or share your personal information as the CCPA defines those terms, and we never have.
- We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels on this site.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we act on it automatically.
- You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete everything we hold, at Your Privacy Choices.
What we collect, and what we do with it
Categories below follow the definitions in California Civil Code §1798.140(v). We have collected the following in the past twelve months.

What we do not collect
We do not ask for and do not want your Social Security number, driver’s license number, financial account numbers, or precise geolocation. If a transaction later requires any of that, it is handled inside Compass’s and the escrow company’s systems, not through this website. We also do not ask about health or disability. If a medical situation is part of why you are moving, you are welcome to tell us on a call so we can find the right home — single-story, wider doorways, close to care — but please do not type it into a form. Anything you send through this site is stored and emailed, and a conversation keeps it where it belongs. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16, and we do not sell or share the personal information of minors under any circumstances.
We do not sell or share your personal information
Under the CCPA, “sell” and “share” are broad: they cover handing data to a third party for money or other value, and sharing it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do neither, and have not in the preceding twelve months. There is no advertising network, retargeting pixel, or data broker on this site. If that ever changes, this section changes first and a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” control appears in the footer.
Who we give information to
We disclose personal information for business purposes only, to the following categories of recipients, each under a contract that forbids them from using it for their own purposes:
- Our brokerage. Compass, as the licensed broker of record for every transaction.
- Hosting and infrastructure. Cloudflare (hosting) and Supabase (lead storage and dashboard sign-in).
- Site analytics. Google Analytics, Fathom Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics, to measure how the site is used. They receive nothing until you allow analytics, and nothing at all when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
- Our marketing agency. Whipsaw Media, who receive the same site analytics we do through a second Google Analytics property, so they can advise us on how the site performs in search.
- Email and messaging. Google Workspace and Resend, to deliver the message you asked for and to notify us of your inquiry.
- Customer relationship tools. The systems we use to keep track of who has asked us what, so a request does not get lost between the two of us.
- Listing data. Our MLS and its data providers, for property information displayed on this site.
- Transaction partners, at your request only. Escrow, title, lenders, inspectors, and photographers, when you have asked us to move a transaction forward.
- Legal. If required by law, subpoena, or to protect someone’s safety or our legal rights.
Your rights as a California resident
The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the following rights. We will not discriminate against you for using any of them: you will get the same service and the same attention either way.
- Know and access. Ask what we have collected about you, where it came from, why, and who we disclosed it to, and get a copy.
- Delete. Ask us to delete what we hold, subject to the narrow exceptions the statute allows, such as records we must keep under real estate licensing rules.
- Correct. Ask us to fix anything inaccurate.
- Opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share, so there is nothing to opt out of. The right stands regardless.
- Limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information for the purposes that trigger this right.
- Portability. Receive your information in a readable, portable format.
How to make a request
Use Your Privacy Choices, email justin.ratowsky@compass.com, or call 714-336-5682. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and take no more than 90 days total.
Before we act on a request to know, correct, or delete, we have to be reasonably sure it is you. We will ask you to confirm two pieces of information we already hold, such as the email address and phone number you gave us. We use what you send for verification only, and then discard it.
Authorized agents. Someone may make a request on your behalf if they give us written permission signed by you, or a valid power of attorney. We may still contact you directly to confirm.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
If your browser or a browser extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out request and turn off analytics and personalized tracking for that browser automatically, without asking you to click anything. The older Do Not Track header carries no legal weight, but we honor it the same way. California law requires us to tell you how we respond to it, which is this paragraph.

The full list of what this site stores in your browser, and the controls for it, is in our Cookie Policy. You can change your choices at any time from Your Privacy Choices.
Calls, texts, and email
When you give us a phone number on a form, you are agreeing that we may contact you at it, including by automated call and by text message. That consent is never a condition of buying or selling a home. Today the reply comes from Craig or Justin; if we ever add an automated assistant that contacts you first, we will say so on the form before you submit it and the assistant will identify itself as automated when it reaches you. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts, tell us on any call to stop calls, or use the unsubscribe link in any email. Opting out of marketing does not stop us from replying to something you asked us about.
Shine the Light
California Civil Code §1798.83 lets California residents ask a business once a year about personal information it disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We do not make disclosures of that kind. You may still ask, at the address below.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS with HSTS. Lead data sits in access-controlled systems and API keys are held as server-side environment variables, never exposed to the browser. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise; if a breach ever affects your information, we will notify you as California law requires.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy at least once every twelve months. If we change it materially, we will update the effective date at the top and, where the change affects how we handle information you already gave us, tell you directly.
