Cookie Policy

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on https://ratowskyrealestate.com, what each one is for, and how to control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers the information you send us directly through our forms.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Related technologies, including local storage and pixels, work the same way for our purposes here. They let a site remember things between page loads, keep you signed in, and measure how the site is being used.

Your choice is stored too

The privacy notice at the bottom of the page writes one small entry, rre-consent, to this browser so we do not ask you again and so the site knows what you allowed. The accessibility options panel stores rre-a11y the same way, holding only your text size and display preferences. Neither one contains anything that identifies you, and both stay on your device.

On a private home report prepared for you, allowing personalized pages also stores a randomly generated browser identifier, rg_vid, in local storage. It lets the report tracker associate that report’s page opening and tracked link or button selections with the same browser. Turning personalized pages off removes the identifier and stops new report events. A Global Privacy Control signal does the same automatically.

What we use, and why

Strictly necessary

These make the site work and cannot be switched off. If you create a homeowner dashboard account, our authentication provider (Supabase) sets a session cookie so you stay signed in as you move between pages. Without it there is no way to keep you logged in.

Analytics

We use three analytics tools to understand which pages people find useful, how visitors reach us, and where the site is slow or broken. None of them runs until you allow analytics in the privacy notice, and none of them runs at all if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.

• Fathom Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics are both cookieless. They count pageviews and referrers without storing a tracking cookie on your device and without building a cross-site advertising profile of you.
• Google Analytics 4 does set cookies, in our own domain, beginning with _ga. They hold a randomly generated identifier so a return visit is not counted as a new person, and they expire on their own. Google processes this data as our service provider. We have not enabled Google Signals, Google Ads linking, or advertising personalization. Two Google Analytics properties receive this data: our own, and one belonging to the marketing agency we work with, who see the same pageview counts we do.

All three exist to improve the site, not to target advertising. If you decline analytics or later change your mind, the Google cookies are the only ones of the three to clean up, and your browser’s “delete cookies for this site” control removes them.

Personalized home reports

The first-party report tracker is separate from analytics. It runs only on a private home report and only when you allow personalized pages. It records that the report was opened and which marked report links or buttons were selected. A report link may also associate the visit with the recipient for whom the report was prepared. Sign-in convenience

On some pages we offer Google sign-in, including Google One Tap. When that prompt loads, Google may set cookies under its own domain and its own privacy policy. It exists only to let you sign in to a dashboard without creating another password. If you never sign in, you never need it.

What we do not do

We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We do not run third-party advertising networks on this site, and we do not place advertising retargeting pixels on it.

Your choices

Every major browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and block future ones, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break the signed-in dashboard, but the public side of the site (listings, neighborhood guides, market reports, and our contact forms) will keep working normally.

Most browsers can also send a Global Privacy Control signal if you turn one on. We detect it on every page load and, when it is present, no analytics script is loaded at all — not loaded and then told to ignore you, simply not loaded. You do not have to click anything, and nothing on the site stops working.

You can also set this per-device without a browser extension, from Your Privacy Choices, or from the Preferences button in the privacy notice at the bottom of the page.

California privacy rights

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of it, and to correct it. You can exercise any of those by emailing us at the address below. We will not treat you differently for exercising a privacy right. Our Privacy Policy has the fuller description.

Changes

If we add a tool that sets cookies, we will update this page and change the date at the top. The date above tells you when this policy last changed.
