Where to find good pizza in Newport Beach, mapped by area and what kind of night you're having.
The local list
The best pizza in Newport Beach depends on the night. On the Balboa Peninsula, the slice spots near the piers feed the post-beach and post-dinner crowds late, and a slice on the boardwalk is a tradition of its own. Balboa Island keeps the family-parlor energy near Marine Avenue, and Corona del Mar village handles the proper sit-down pizza night along East Coast Highway. Fashion Island is the easy family option with painless parking, and the Westcliff and Eastbluff side is where the everyday takeout-and-delivery pies come from. Pick by the night, not the name.
Pizza in a beach town does a specific set of jobs: the post-beach slice when everyone's sandy and starving, the family parlor night, the Friday takeout run. I grew up one town north in Huntington Beach, and Newport is where we ended up half the time anyway, so I've eaten Newport pizza in every one of those modes, including the boardwalk slice at an hour I won't print.
As with the rest of these lists, I'm mapping areas instead of naming shops, because pizza places change hands and the pockets don't. Every stretch below has held its role for years: the Peninsula does slices and late hours, the island does parlor nights, CdM does sit-down, and the inland side does the everyday pie. I work with buyers all over this stretch of coast, and the Ratowsky Group at Compass keeps the rest of our local guides linked at the bottom.

The slice counters near Newport Pier and down toward Balboa Village stay open when everything else has quit, feeding the post-beach, post-dinner, and post-everything crowds. This is fold-it-and-walk pizza, eaten on the boardwalk with the ocean making noise in the dark. Not the fanciest pie in town, and not trying to be.
The island does the classic parlor night: checked-tablecloth energy, kids in sports jerseys, a pie for the table after a day on the bay. Fold it into the full island evening, ferry over, pizza near Marine Avenue, then a frozen banana for dessert and the bayfront loop while the harbor lights come on. That sequence is Newport at its most timeless.
When pizza night deserves a table, real plates, and something from the wine list, CdM village is the stretch. The spots along East Coast Highway lean toward proper ovens and composed pies, a step up in polish from the slice counters, in keeping with the village's whole demeanor. Date-night pizza lives here.
Fashion Island is the logistics answer: open-air, stroller-friendly, and painless parking, with pizza options that keep every age at the table happy. It's the pick when the group is big, the kids are tired, or you just want dinner to be easy. Predictable in the best sense.
The everyday pie. The neighborhood centers around Westcliff and Eastbluff carry the takeout-and-delivery spots that feed regular weeknights, the after-practice orders, and the Friday-night defaults. No views, no scene, just the pizza that actually gets eaten most often in this town.
Match the place to the night. Slice counters near the sand for sandy, hungry, and now; parlors on the island for the family production; CdM for the table-and-wine-list version; the inland centers for the weeknight order. A counter that's busy at 9 pm on the Peninsula, or a phone ringing off the hook inland on a Friday, tells you more than any rating will.
